Baystate Health is seeking a Guest Service Ambassador (GSA) to join our Food & Nutrition Services team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Guest Service Ambassador plays an important role in the patient experience by facilitating meal and snack selections, assembling and delivering patient meals, and providing exceptional customer service. Working closely with patients, families, Nursing, and the Clinical Nutrition Team, the GSA helps ensure meals and snacks are provided safely, accurately, and in accordance with each patient's Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) orders and food allergies.
The Guest Service Ambassador role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care and satisfaction through direct interaction with patients and families. This position combines customer service, nutrition-related meal support, communication, and food service responsibilities in a collaborative hospital environment.
The Guest Service Ambassador Will:
- Assist patients and families with meal and snack selections while considering diet orders, food allergies, and Medical Nutrition Therapy requirements.
- Assess patients for appropriate food selections and provide guidance and alternatives when needed.
- Accurately assemble patient meals, snacks, and supplements in compliance with diet orders and food allergies.
- Deliver meals, snacks, and supplements to patient care units while coordinating delivery with Nursing when required.
- Use dual identifiers when delivering patient trays and snacks and assist patients with tray setup as needed.
- Communicate food choice, intake, and meal-related concerns to the Clinical Nutrition Team, Nursing, Supervisor, or Liaison to support quality patient care.
- Record meal, fluid, supplement, and calorie-count intake when ordered and accurately perform tray tracking.
- Maintain food and supply inventory for patient tray assembly areas, process Commissary orders, and follow safe food-handling and storage practices

- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Schedule: 11:30am-7:30pm
- Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
- Other Scheduling Requirements: Rotating holidays

No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
