Description
SUMMARY
The Cashier receives cash from customers and employees in payment for goods or services and records the amount received in an accurate manner. S/he is sometimes the customer’s last contact with the dealership and therefore must represent the dealership in a friendly, professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Process customer payments for service and parts transactions using established processes utilizing pay methods approved.
- Responsible for processing payments and entering DMS correctly.
- Reconcile cash box and deposits daily with exact accuracy as per request of the accounting department.
- Submit timely and accurate cashier reports according to the established process.
- Maintain manufacturer certification.
- Review extended service contracts and submit for payment with service contract agencies as necessary
- Answer Service calls and assist with customer needs as instructed by management.
- Provide appointment scheduling for customers both at cashiering and on the phone using the xtime system.
- Maintain loaner vehicle fleet by utilizing available systems and following applicable process. Create loaner contracts and maintain documentation as required.
- Make outbound calls to follow up with customers, schedule appointments, and generate additional service business as requested.
- Review emails from BDC support and assist with customer needs.
- Advise service manager of any customer concerns or needs that require management’s attention.
- Maintain work area tidy and organized.
- Ensure documents are filed appropriately and secure.
- Provide a positive customer experience.
- Assist the service manager in any other duties as directed.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/ QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- One year of experience operating a cash register preferred.
- Will be trained on dealership computer systems, cash register and other office machines.
- Professional personal appearance.
- Ability to work well with customers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Duties are performed primarily at a desk in an office setting. Work includes frequent clerical and administrative responsibilities and interaction with managers and employees.
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Occasional lifting, standing, crawling, reaching, use of stairs.
- Occasional attendance at social gatherings.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Maintain a clean driving record
