About the role

We’re looking for a Developer to join our Internal IT team and help us scale the impact we have across the company.

Over the past two years, teams across HR, Finance, Legal, Sales, Growth, and Admin have built and shipped their own internal tools — most of them initiated by non-engineering colleagues using AI coding tools, with light support from IT. It’s worked well, but our capacity to support this is now the bottleneck.

This role exists to fix that. Roughly half your time will go to building and maintaining internal systems yourself, and the other half to being the technical backstop for colleagues building their own tools — stepping in where they get stuck, and turning “it works” into “it’s production-ready.”

We expect this role’s output to be produced largely through AI coding agents. We’re not looking for someone who has tried an AI tool — we’re looking for someone whose day-to-day work has already been reshaped by one.

 

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal systems and automation tools used across the company, deployed primarily on GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Firestore, Cloud SQL)
• Integrate internal and external APIs (Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Salesforce, etc.) and maintain tools already in production
• Act as the technical point of contact for non-engineering teams building their own tools — helping with deployment, permissions, databases, API integration, performance, and error handling
• Review colleagues’ code, flag risks, and turn prototypes or one-off scripts into maintainable systems
• Build and maintain shared deployment environments, project templates, and components; introduce Git and CI/CD practices for internal tools
• Use AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity CLI) as your primary way of building, and design agentic workflows for recurring tasks
• Work directly with stakeholders across departments to clarify requirements, assess feasibility and risk, and propose simpler alternatives when needed

 

About You

Minimum Qualifications

• About 1–3 years of software development experience, with the ability to independently build and ship small to mid-sized systems
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or backend language (Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with GCP or another cloud platform, including deployment and access management basics
• Comfortable with Git, code review, and CI/CD workflows
• Experience with Google Apps Script, or confidence to pick it up quickly
• A heavy daily user of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, or similar) — not an occasional user
• Able to communicate clearly with non-engineering colleagues and translate technical constraints into plain language
• Comfortable digging into unfamiliar systems or APIs independently

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Apps Script to integrate with internal or third-party systems
• Experience with Cloud Run, Docker, or other containerized deployments
• Experience designing agentic workflows, using MCP, or building AI agent toolchains
• API integration experience with Salesforce, Slack, Jira, or other SaaS platforms
• Experience with data processing, reporting automation, or dashboards
• Experience mentoring non-engineers in coding, or writing internal technical documentation
• Experience with internal tools, enterprise systems, or IT automation
