Description
The Utility Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and presentable facility through our Twinsburg location. This role performs daily cleaning and sanitation activities, manages waste and recycling, maintains facility supplies and common areas, and provides general facility support to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
This role is 1st shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Waste and Recycling Management
- Collect, sort and dispose of trash and cardboard throughout warehouse and production areas daily.
- Collect and recycle shrink wrap and load shrink wrap baler.
- Organize and load the recycle trailer
- Maintain and organize the recycling and waste areas.
- Follow recycling and waste-handling procedures.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jack, bailers, floor scrubbers, scissor lift and compactor.
Facility Sanitation
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum floors throughout the facility as directed
- Clean warehouse areas that are not covered by cleaning services.
- Pick up and remove trash from areas outside of the facility.
- Spot clean carpet stains and clean windows as needed.
- Clean and vacuum the company vehicles weekly, maintain as needed.
- Operate floor scrubbers on a weekly schedule in Production and Distribution areas.
General Facility Support
- Stock and organize shelves in designated storage rooms.
- Maintain lunchroom supplies and refill items as needed.
- Continuous replacement of light bulbs in the offices, hallways and breakroom.
- Utilize scissor-lift to replace light fixtures and/or LED bulbs in the warehouse.
- Monitor hand towels, toilet paper, soap and other restroom supply to ensure proper inventories for all shifts.
- Check and stock copy paper in mail rooms 1 and 2 and the modular building, as needed.
- Assist with set-up and arrangement of tables and chairs to prepare facilities for special events and meetings; assist with breakdown and cleanup following events and meetings.
- Assist maintenance in special projects as needed.
- Perform duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to siffron safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
- Actively speaks up and reports safety, environmental or quality concerns.
- Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
- Follow all applicable procedures for waste, recycling, equipment operation, and company vehicle use.
Additional Responsibilities
- Complete paperwork for completed assignments per scheduled duties.
- Drive company van to pick up supplies, NPD, office and Production.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety requirements.
Requirements
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No previous experience required
- Sit-down forklift certified
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to operate various hand tools and equipment used in cleaning and maintenance functions.

- Ability to push and pull a broom, mop, and vacuum.
- Ability to lift and stack cases up to 50lbs.
