Our Surplus & Specialty Lines (S&S) Division develops customized coverage solutions for complex exposures, difficult-to-insure risks and niche segments of the market. Job Description

The Actuarial Intern performs data analysis and conversion to support projects for the Actuarial Team Surplus & Specialty division within Crum & Forster. Works under close supervision and direction of Actuaries. 

 

What you will do:

• Under the direction and supervision of Actuary
  • Preparation and analysis of actuarial data.
  • Automating and migrating current SQL processes to a new environment.
  • Building actuarial reports/tools to support group needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you will bring to C&F:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• College juniors preferred, but sophomores will also be considered.
• Highly motivated with a go-getter personality.
• Completion of at least one actuarial exam is required.
• Experience with SQL is required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $16.00 to a maximum of $27.50. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
