Job Profile Summary
- Leads day-to-day execution of Field Readiness Enablement, ensuring field service organizations are prepared to support new product introductions (NPI) and technology ramps. Coordinates readiness across training, field service organization (FSO) capacity, capability development, technical documentation, and spare parts so that critical support elements are in place before product release or ramp milestones.
- Ensures readiness activities are aligned with Global Product Support (GPS), FSO, the Strategic Programs Office (SPO), Service Business Units, Spares Planning, Training, and Technical Publications teams to proactively identify readiness gaps and drive mitigation before customer demand materializes.
- Requires broad knowledge and experience gained through education and applied work experience. Uses professional concepts and established practices to plan, organize, and coordinate work across multiple stakeholder groups. Works on assignments of moderate scope and complexity using defined project management practices; escalates project risks to program leadership.
Job Description & Key Responsibilities
- Readiness Planning: Ensures that readiness objectives, milestones, and sign-off criteria are defined for each assigned product ramp or NPI, and that preliminary activities (e.g., forecast review, resource demand planning, training and documentation planning) begin at forecast notification rather than at shipment, allowing for effective execution at install.
- Training Readiness: Coordinates training readiness plans for new products, upgrades, and technology releases; ensures training materials and certification paths are available and aligned with engineering releases; tracks training completion and certification status.
- Capacity Planning: Supports assessment of current and future customer engineer (CE) resource requirements based on business forecasts and customer demand; maintains capacity models and headcount gap analyses; partners with management on hiring, onboarding, and deployment strategies.
- Capability Development: Tracks technical competency levels and capability gaps for new technologies and products; supports development plans, certification programs, and readiness scorecards that increase workforce flexibility.
- Documentation Readiness: Ensures service procedures, troubleshooting guides, maintenance and installation documentation, and knowledge base articles are released and available before ramp; facilitates documentation readiness reviews and checklists.
- Spares Readiness: Collaborates with Regional Planning and Global Product Support to define spare parts requirements, recommended and targeted stocking levels, and stocking strategies; monitors spares readiness.
- Governance & Reporting: Coordinates readiness reviews and governance meetings; keeps readiness status visible in dashboards and trackers; escalates risks with owners and mitigation plans; prepares readiness status reporting for leadership.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensures readiness execution is documented and information required by other functions is reported or transferred as appropriate; ensures compliance with Company policies regarding confidentiality, data privacy, and safety.
- Continuous Improvement: Captures post-install feedback on training gaps, documentation issues, and execution challenges, and incorporates lessons learned into standard readiness processes for the next cycle
