Junior Software Engineer AI Enabled

We are seeking entry-level or junior candidates with a technical background and genuine interest in software development, data and AI technologies. Selected candidates will join a structured technical training program before being deployed in technology teams, working alongside experienced colleagues. Advanced AI expertise is not required — we prioritize solid foundations, learning agility and curiosity.

• Develop and maintain software applications (backend, frontend or full-stack, depending on path).

• Build, integrate and test APIs and application services; work with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Perform debugging, troubleshooting and version control (Git/GitHub).

• Collaborate within Agile teams; produce clear technical documentation.

• Use and critically validate Generative AI tools for coding, documentation and prototyping; contribute to AI service/API integration after training.

For this position, the proposed employment classification is C2 under the Italian Metalworking Industry Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico – C011).

The expected gross annual salary ranges from €26,843.44 to €28,748.59.

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, STEM or related field — or equivalent technical education / hands-on experience.

• Good English proficiency for technical training, documentation and international collaboration.

• Solid understanding of programming fundamentals and algorithmic thinking; hands-on knowledge of at least one language (Java, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript preferred).

• Exposure to one or more of: OOP, web development, APIs, databases or software testing. Git/GitHub familiarity is a plus.

• Strong motivation, problem-solving mindset, learning agility and collaborative attitude.

 

Preferred Technical Background:

• Backend & Engineering (Java / Spring Boot · Python · REST APIs · SQL/PostgreSQL · Testing)

• Web & Full-Stack (HTML5/CSS3/JS ES6+ · React or Vue.js · Node.js/Django · NoSQL)

• Data, Automation & AI (Python/Pandas/NumPy · ML or GenAI concepts · Script/API automation)

 

The training program will also develop skills in:

• AI/ML/LLM and GenAI fundamentals, AI coding assistants, Prompt engineering, RAG and embeddings basics.

• Critical evaluation of AI outputs, Responsible AI principles (privacy, security, IP, human oversight), AI-assisted development and testing.
