The Spirit of the Position
As a Parking Enforcement Officer, you will patrol assigned parking areas, identify parking violations, issue citations when appropriate, and help ensure parking rules are followed consistently.
You will also assist customers, monitor the property for safety concerns, document incidents accurately, and communicate with supervisors regarding unusual activity or operational issues.
Professionalism, good judgment, attention to detail, and respectful communication are essential to succeeding in this position.
What You’ll Do
Parking Enforcement
- Patrol assigned parking facilities and surrounding areas on foot or as directed.
- Monitor vehicles for compliance with posted parking rules, permits, restrictions, and payment requirements.
- Issue parking citations accurately and consistently according to company procedures.
- Verify license plates, parking permits, payment information, and vehicle details.
- Identify vehicles parked in unauthorized, restricted, reserved, fire-lane, or accessible spaces.
- Document violations using handheld enforcement devices or other assigned equipment.
- Take clear photographs and record accurate information to support issued citations.
- Report abandoned, damaged, suspicious, or improperly parked vehicles.
- Follow established procedures when vehicles may require towing or additional action.
- Complete enforcement reports and daily activity logs accurately and on time.
Customer Service
- Communicate parking rules clearly, calmly, and professionally.
- Answer questions about parking regulations, citations, payments, and facility locations.
- Provide directions and assist customers with general parking-related concerns.
- Treat every customer respectfully, including during difficult or confrontational situations.
- Use a positive, solution-focused approach while maintaining consistent enforcement standards.
- Contact a supervisor when an issue requires additional assistance or escalation.
Safety and Property Monitoring
- Monitor assigned properties for safety concerns, suspicious activity, and potential hazards.
- Report damaged signs, lighting problems, broken equipment, blocked areas, or maintenance concerns.
- Help maintain safe and organized vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow.
- Remain aware of your surroundings while working independently.
- Follow all company safety procedures and emergency-response guidelines.
- Contact the appropriate supervisor or emergency personnel when necessary.
Teamwork and Professionalism
- Arrive on time, in uniform, and prepared for every scheduled shift.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while remaining connected with the team.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers regarding enforcement activity and property conditions.
- Use company equipment responsibly and report technical problems promptly.
- Follow all LAZ Parking policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Assist with additional operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging interactions.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Ability to operate a handheld device or learn parking-enforcement technology.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to understand and follow company policies and enforcement procedures.
Preferred
- Previous parking enforcement, security, parking, hospitality, retail, or customer-facing experience.
- Experience using mobile devices, handheld ticketing systems, or payment-processing equipment.
- Experience working outdoors or independently.
- Experience completing incident reports or other detailed documentation.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Patrol parking facilities and outdoor areas regularly.
- Work outdoors during varying weather conditions.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Bend, squat, stoop, and move frequently throughout the workday.
- Safely use handheld enforcement equipment.
- Remain alert and aware of surrounding activity.
