About the Job
In this role, you will be responsible for performing activities related to Sales & Use Tax for the US market, ensuring accurate tax calculation, reconciliation, return preparation and compliance with relevant regulations and internal requirements. You will work closely with local teams and other stakeholders to investigate discrepancies, support process improvements and contribute to the effective delivery of tax operations.
- Calculating and reconciling Sales & Use Tax for relevant US business activities.
- Preparing, completing and filing Sales & Use Tax returns.
- Performing tax projections and actual tax calculations in line with applicable rules and process frameworks.
- Investigating discrepancies in Sales & Use Tax calculations, with a focus on technical root causes and sustainable resolution.
- Applying the correct tax rules and supporting the incorporation of required tax changes into existing processes.
- Acting as an interface towards IT in case of technical issues impacting tax processes or calculations.
- Liaising with local R2R teams and other internal stakeholders to support tax return reviews, process changes and issue resolution.
- Supporting tax audits by preparing data, documentation and explanations as required.
- Contributing to continuous improvement opportunities within tax operations, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and process efficiency.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Business Administration or a related field.
- First professional experience in finance, accounting or tax, preferably in a shared services or international environment.
- Experience or interest in US Sales & Use Tax processes, including tax calculation, reconciliation, return preparation and filing.
- Good understanding of financial accounting principles and tax-related controls.
- Strong numerical and reconciliation skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivots and commonly used formulas such as VLOOKUP and SUMIF.
- Experience with tax software, research tools or financial systems would be an advantage.
- Interest in solving process and system-related issues with a technology-focused mindset.
- Service orientation, process mindset and willingness to continuously improve the way of working.
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, explain procedures and coordinate required actions.
- Good organizational skills, agility and ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
