Description
Serve as the category authority for the assigned account set, bringing a "category-first, retailer-centric" point of view to every recommendation. Develop and present category reviews, line reviews, and reset recommendations that grow the total category while advancing our portfolio. Lead assortment optimization, shelf/space strategy, and planogram recommendations — including days-on-hand analysis, distribution gap analysis, and look-of-success standards. Build the incrementality and innovation narratives that justify new-item authorization, pack/format strategy, and exclusivity opportunities tailored to each banner. Translate club-channel economics (pack architecture, member value, pricing comparisons) and eCommerce dynamics (digital shelf, search, content, retail media interplay) into distinct, account-specific strategies. Required Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, or a related field. 5+ years in category management, shopper/consumer insights, or a related analytical role within CPG/FMCG (beverage or food & beverage preferred). Hands-on expertise with syndicated data — Circana (Unify+) and/or Nielsen — and consumer panel tools (Numerator, Nielsen/Circana panel). Demonstrated proficiency building planogram / space recommendations (e.g., Blue Yonder / JDA, Apollo, or similar) and interpreting assortment and distribution analytics. Advanced PowerPoint and Excel; ability to turn complex data into a clear, compelling, action-oriented story. Proven ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external buyers. Direct experience supporting Amazon, Costco, BJ's, Sam's Club, or comparable club/eCommerce accounts. Familiarity with Amazon Brand Analytics / ABA, Amazon Brand View Pro (ABVP) digital-shelf and search analytics, and the role of retail media. Experience with shopper loyalty/card data and retailer-direct portals. Data-visualization fluency (Power BI / Tableau) and a track record of automating "speed to insight." Data-driven storytelling — turns numbers into a narrative a buyer will act on. Cross-functional influence — builds trust across Sales, Brand, and partner teams. Strategic + executional — connects the big category picture to the next concrete sell-in. Ownership and pace — manages multiple accounts and deadlines with composure. Deliver post-reset, post-promotion, and post-innovation scorecards that quantify performance and recommend clear next steps. Build and maintain recurring reporting, dashboards, and scorecards; manage ad-hoc requests across the Category and Sales teams without losing the strategic thread. Partner with Sales, Brand, Shopper Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, Supply Chain, and Space Planning to align on a single category vision per account. Prepare and deliver presentations for buyer meetings, top-to-top reviews, and internal leadership forums. Mentor analysts and junior category team members; help upskill the broader sales force to "sell with insights."
