Parsons is seeking a Deputy Project Director / Associate Director to support the Project Director in the successful delivery of the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for a luxury hospitality and entertainment development in Qatar. The development is a state-of-the-art entertainment hub, set to attract millions of visitors annually with its immersive experiences and diverse attractions.
The Deputy Project Director will manage the day-to-day coordination of project delivery activities while providing leadership across the Theme Park, Entertainment, Retail and associated development packages. The role will ensure seamless integration between design, procurement, construction, specialist ride systems, themed environments, operational requirements, testing & commissioning, and handover activities.
Working closely with the Project Director, the Deputy Project Director will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support achievement of project objectives related to schedule, quality, budget, safety, operational readiness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Project Director in managing the overall delivery of PMC services.
Lead day-to-day coordination of the Theme Park, Entertainment and associated development packages.
Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants, specialist ride vendors, themed entertainment designers, contractors, operators, and suppliers.
Manage package-level planning, reporting, interfaces, risks, and design coordination.
Monitor progress across design, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, and operational readiness.
Coordinate technical reviews, constructability reviews, and design integration activities.
Support management of stakeholder meetings and interface coordination.
Monitor contractor performance and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate project reporting, executive dashboards, and action tracking.
Support implementation of project governance, quality management, HSE, risk management, and document control procedures.
Assist the Project Director in resolving technical, commercial, and operational issues.
Act for the Project Director during periods of absence as delegated.
EDUCATION & SPECIFIC ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Theme Park Engineering or related discipline.
Professional certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred.
Minimum 15 years of experience in PMC, Programme Management or Project Management.
Demonstrated experience delivering major theme parks, entertainment destinations, integrated resorts, or leisure developments.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
Experience with complex attractions, themed environments, or destination entertainment projects is highly desirable.
GCC experience preferred.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management Consultancy (PMC) delivery for theme parks, entertainment, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.
Strong understanding of design coordination, interface management, construction sequencing, testing & commissioning, and operational readiness.
Extensive knowledge of multidisciplinary coordination involving consultants, contractors, specialist attraction vendors, operators, and authorities.
Strong understanding of project controls, planning, procurement, commercial management, risk management, and construction delivery.
Proven ability to coordinate multiple work packages while maintaining alignment with project objectives, programme, and budget.
Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to proactively resolve technical, operational, and interface challenges.
Ability to perform effectively within large programme environments while supporting integrated project delivery from design through handover.
