R&D Chemist - (Fire Protection)

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

As an R&D Chemist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining products by preparing, testing, and evaluating coatings, binders, and raw materials. You will also play an active role in supporting the R&D strategy and strengthening technical competence across the organization through robust, data-driven development work and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for assigned products, projects, tasks, or activities and ensure they meet required quality standards, procedures, and regulations.
• Plan and carry out projects and tasks, including formulation, testing, evaluation of results, and raw materials, with guidance from the Manager or senior colleagues.
• Clearly report and communicate work results, both verbally and in writing, to support decision-making.
• Continuously develop knowledge through reading, practical experience, learning from colleagues, and attending relevant training.
• Follow all HSEQ procedures, safety requirements, and documentation to maintain a safe working environment.
• Keep the workplace clean, organized, safe, and pleasant.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER

What we look for

• Bachelor with minimum 4 years experience OR Master with minimum 2 years’ experience.
• Knowledge on fire protection coatings is preferred Strong coatings formulation knowledge in protective coatings, including binder systems and curing chemistries.
• Experience with performance validation (e.g., weathering, corrosion, and accelerated testing) and strong knowledge of internationally accepted test methods and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and projects independently and deliver with strong structure and follow-up.
• Must be proficient in verbal and written English.
