Senior Merchandiser

Eastpak team is looking for an exceptional Senior Merchandiser who will join our Merchandising team based in Antwerp, Belgium.

Let’s Talk about the Role

 As Senior Merchandiser you will play a vital and strategic role in aligning merchandising strategies with brand objectives, fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams, and driving overall brand growth. You will further optimize assortments and adopt an omnichannel approach. You will research and analyse the markets, stay updated on current and future trends, product needs and performance. You will report into the Sr Manager Product Merchandising.

 

How You Will Make a Difference

 You will achieve this by:

• Translate consumer, market, and competitive insights into actionable product and assortment briefings for the product development team aligned with seasonal direction and account-specific SMU requests.
• Develop a globally consistent assortment while considering local nuances and opportunities. Establish a clear understanding of regional markets and channels and tailor merchandising strategies to capitalize on specific growth opportunities adapted to regional markets.
• Embrace an omnichannel approach and create assortments that are well-suited for digital and DTC channels.
• Take ownership of category performance and business KPIs (revenue, margin, productivity, sell-through and inventory efficiency), turning analysis into business results.
• Own seasonal line plans and conduct SKU-level productivity analyses to improve line efficiency, achieve business targets and anticipate emerging trends.
• Accountable for updating and accuracy at all times of the different systems (Grid, Line lists, Analyses)
• Drive the seasonal sales reps sample order and follow up on the process.
• Contribute to shaping seasonal GTM strategies and commercial priorities, ensuring alignment across channels and markets during various steps of the go-to-market process (GTM process meetings and Key Account meetings)
• Provide merchandising inputs into seasonal forecasting and demand planning in close partnership with Planning and Sales
• Partner with Digital/Marketing to use relevant seasonal content in their tools.
• Lead post-season hindsight reviews and drive continuous assortment optimization, ensuring key learnings are embedded into future seasons.

 

Skills for Success

• 5+ years’ experience in Merchandising, Product Management, Merchandising planning ideally in global brand organizations
• Analytical with strong product affinity
• Being a true team player that champions new way of workings
• Strong Excel skills with a detail orientation
• Demonstrates flexibility and initiative in tackling challenges and finding innovative solutions
• Strong communication skills – includes presentation, influencing and negotiation skills
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
• Has a passion for the product and is consumer-obsessed
