Description
Priority Family Care, is seeking a dependable and organized Clerical Assistant with pervious pharmacy experience to assist with pharmacy related phone calls, prescription coordination, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and experience communication with pharmacies and medical offices. Spanish speaker a must!
Job Responsibilities:
- Make and receive phone calls from pharmacies regarding prescription-related inquiries.
- Assist with prescription refill requests and communicate request to the appropriate provider or clinical staff.
- Follow up with pharmacies regarding prescription status, medication availability, and processing delays.
- Communicate with physicians offices and pharmacy staff to resolve routine administrative issues.
- Document all calls, messages , and follow-up activities accurately.
- Maintain organized records and protect confidential patient information in accordance with HIPPA requirements.
- Assist with clerical duties, data entry, filing, faxing, and other administrative tasks.
- Route clinical questions, medication concerns, and urgent issues to the appreciate licensed healthcare professional.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous pharmacy experience is required.
- Experience working in a pharmacy, medical office, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, data entry, and documentation experience.
- Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of calls.
- Knowledge of HIPPA and patient confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
- Spanish speaker a must!
Preferred Experience:
- Pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk experience.
- Experience communication with retail pharmacies and prescription department.
- Familiarity with prescription refill requests, medication prior authorizations, amd pharmacy follow-ups.
- Spanish speaker a must!
NOTE: Pharmacy technician licensure or registration may be required if the position includes duties regulated under applicable state law.
