STAR Asset Finance Group is on a mission to change asset finance for good, by offering industry leading service, support and engagement to our customers, employees and peers, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our Credo Asset Finance business.
STAR Asset Finance is a financial services Group currently made up of four established asset finance companies across the UK. JOB PURPOSE
This role is a great opportunity to join an ambitious team, looking to grow the business with the support of the STAR Asset Finance Group. The role will be responsible for driving new business origination as well as relationship managing existing customers. The ideal candidate would be someone with a proven track record of driving new business in the SME lending space and a willingness to utilise all available forms of lead generation from centrally led marketing campaigns to local prospect cold calling. They should be able to operate effectively as part of a team and have the personality and positive attitude to motivate and encourage their team members and contribute to a great team spirit.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Present the STAR/Credo product offering to prospective new clients to obtain business from them
- Develop a personal customer pipeline, and consistently deliver against a personal sales target
- Develop long-term relationships with prospective customers to be their funder of choice
- Present quality finance applications to in-house underwriters, or to funders, in a coherent, honest and complete manner, consistently to get deals approved
- Follow up on regular marketing activity and take appropriate action in order to continually increase new business, improve quality of submissions and deliver the appropriate service levels
- Achieve and exceed all KPI’s relating to case numbers, CCF % business, business volumes and income levels for the business. KPI’s and targets as advised by Head of Credo Sales
- Attend networking events as and when identified and required
- Follow the businesses’ Rules of Engagement with regards to other team members prospects & customers
- Report and update the Head of Credo Sales on activity, pipeline and results
- Endeavour to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded
- Attend as required meetings within the business (Sales, Operations, Personal Review)
- Update database with all quotes (input onto Leasepath) and monitor pending list with notes weekly
- Take ownership of customer queries, ensuring customer expectations are met and exceeded “going above and beyond” for customers internal and external
- Comply with company policy and FCA rules/guidelines including compliancy tests & SAF tests
- Assist with any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Credo Sales to support across the business
COMPLIANCE, TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Keep up to date with compliance regulation updates including any changes within your role
- Attend and/or complete any mandatory training courses stipulated by the Company
- Lead by example and embed the conduct rules in every aspect of your work
- Identify and approve relevant training opportunities
EXPERIENCE/PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Strong sales focus and highly motivated to achieve targets
- Good business sense and an understanding of market principles
- Proven track record of driving new business sales, ideally operating in the SME finance sector
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and able to work on own initiative
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Solid knowledge of structuring and presenting deals to credit underwriters
- Strong people skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
