Job Description Summary
-This role is responsible for providing Occupational Health (OH) services and conducting to manage and promote employees’ health. Performs basic medical care functions, assesses OH risk factors at workplace, enhances employees’ wellness through disease and accident prevention. As a part of HSE team, he/she will play an instrumental role in setting up and implementing OH management plans, processes and governing compliance, to identify, anticipate, prevent and resolve potential OH issues.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary point of contact on OH relevant performance and issues for the Site/Country.
- Launch OH services and relevant management process to comply with local authority’s requirements
- Ensures that OH strategies are supported, championed and implemented.
- Leads, develops, and coordinates associates’ wellbeing program according to HSE guideline and advice
- Represents OH in site’s HSE committee and provides professional advice on occupational health.
- Participate HSE networks or project at global, regional and cluster level.
- Set up plans or framework for site’s OH to meet local HSE standards and regulations.
- Provide primary care for injuries and illnesses on site and emergency response.
- Conduct health consultation with employees and follow up on the medical check results
- Develop health promotion programs and activities, for examples: fitness, smoking cessation, blood donation.
Essential Requirements:
- Support vaccination program as per company or local regulatory requirement
- Manage the infectious disease program within the workplace. (COVID-19, MERS, etc.)
- Maintain on-site OH facilities (nursing room), medical devices and first-aid kits.
- Secure compliance with relevant HSE company’s rules and local regulations.
- Support HSE risk cycle, RCF self assessment, test, audit and inspections, and incident management from OH perspective
- Extend OH technical support to Greater China cluster when needed.
- Other duties as required by Novartis HSE team and local authorities.
- Manage Novartis or 3rd party HSE resources, including third-party HSE service providers or contractors.
Desirable Requirement:
- BS/MS deree in department of nursing or medicine. Licensed nurse. Industrial hygiene relevant degree or class B safety and health license is preferred.
- Fluency in Mandarin is required, and good command of English is preferred.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in OH management is must.
