Job Summary
As a Purchasing Clerk, you will play a vital role in our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for managing purchase orders, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and analyzing costs to ensure our manufacturing plant operates smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Order Placement: Generate and process purchase orders (POs) based on inventory requisitions, ensuring absolute accuracy in quantities, specifications, and delivery timelines.
Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with suppliers; monitor vendor performance and proactively resolve any issues.
Cost Analysis: Conduct routine cost analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-reduction opportunities and drive process improvements.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain meticulous records of all purchasing activities, contracts, price listings, and vendor communications.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve supply chain challenges, including delivery delays, quality concerns, or invoice discrepancies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Purchasing Clerk, Procurement Assistant, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment is highly valued.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and procurement software.
Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Negotiation: Ability to secure favorable terms, pricing, and lead times with suppliers.
Analytical Thinking: Strong capability to analyze market trends, data, and supplier performance.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration and external vendor relations.
Attention to Detail: High precision in reviewing contracts, purchase orders, and financial documentation.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Environment: Standard office environment within a manufacturing facility.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required for supplier site visits or contract negotiations.
