The Department of Geology and Geophysics at Texas A&M University is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Manager to lead outreach, engagement, and partnership initiatives for the Berg-Hughes Center. Responsibilities include coordinating events and conferences, managing industry relationships, supporting student development programs, facilitating communications and outreach efforts, and overseeing administrative operations to ensure the successful achievement of program objectives. This role offers the opportunity to foster impactful collaborations between academia and industry while advancing geoscience education and workforce development.

Opportunities to Contribute

• Plans, organizes, directs, and manages program operations, develops administrative procedures, supports strategic planning and goal development, and supervises support staff and student assistants.

• Supports program growth through research, writing, grant applications, presentations, training programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and the development of program materials and resources.

• Manages and supports budgetary, contract, and financial processes, including campaign budgets, purchase orders, requisitions, vouchers, and coordination with accounting and administrative personnel.

• Develops and executes communication, marketing, and promotional initiatives through digital, print, social media, and branding campaigns while fostering relationships with partners and stakeholders.

• Coordinates and promotes organizational participation at professional conferences and events, including exhibit booth management, presentations, meetings, and outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communication or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Five years of related experience. 

• Ability to move moderate weight objects, such as those for setting up and taking down event exhibits.

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:

• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. 

• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

• Excellent written communication, copy editing, and proofing skills. 

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
