Coordinator - Environmental Health & Safety

Southland Organics is currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to fill the role of Coordinator - Environmental Health & Safety. This role forms an integral part of our team, and is a crucial element in ensuring the day-to-day operations of our company are in full compliance with both standard safety measures and environmental health regulations. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and maintain company health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. Plan and implement training programs for personnel in areas such as hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, life safety, and fire safety. Conduct routine and impromptu equipment and facility inspections to identify potential hazards or non-compliance issues. Collaborate with internal departments and external resources to drive continuous health & safety improvement throughout the organization. Investigate safety incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in a related role, preferably within an industrial, manufacturing or construction setting. Strong knowledge of rules and regulations established by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and OSHA. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think strategically and to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work collaboratively with all levels of an organization. Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) would be beneficial.
