Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping.
- Supervise and lead a diverse team of warehouse associates, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and executed.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
- Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams to optimize workflows and reduce costs.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring accurate records are kept and stock availability aligns with customer and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and legal standards related to warehouse operations.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members, fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software to track operations and generate performance reports.
- Identify and resolve operational issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with transportation teams and external vendors to ensure timely and efficient delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in warehouse management, including supervision of staff and day-to-day operational oversight.
- Exceptional knowledge of supply chain and logistics best practices and warehouse management principles.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on fostering an inclusive workplace.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software tools.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace safety, diversity, and sustainability practices.
Day-to-Day
- Monitor warehouse activities to ensure smooth execution of receiving, storage, and shipping tasks.
- Conduct team meetings to communicate daily goals, provide updates, and address any challenges or opportunities.
- Collaborate with various departments to coordinate inventory adjustments, product distribution, and transportation logistics.
- Perform regular safety inspections, ensuring that the warehouse complies with industry best practices and standards.
- Review inventory reports and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
- Address operational issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Mentor team members, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training opportunities for skill development.
- Report on operational metrics, achievements, and areas for improvement to senior management.
