- Full-time, in-person position based in Lecanto, FL, scheduled hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Provides primary service desk support for information technology users.
- Provides troubleshooting and repair of end-user computer equipment, also including equipment that interfaces with building security systems, heating and air systems, phone systems, traffic control systems and others.
- Coordinates warranty repairs with the manufacturer of end user systems.
- Installs software to new computers from images and installs new computers in coordination with the Lead Systems Support Technician.
- Installs and troubleshoots software problems both in person and with remote management tools.
- Supports Microsoft Office Professional suite of programs and current Microsoft Windows operating systems for desktop computers.
- Responsible for the IT inventory including receiving new inventory, managing assets, conducting asset audits, maintaining an accurate inventory of both asset and non-asset items.
- Assists the Lead Systems Support Technician in the disposal and recycling of surplus or obsolete equipment.
- Installs, configures, and maintains peripheral devices such as printers and scanners.
- Provides primary support for tier 1 help desk requests via telephone, email, and online, providing support and solutions for end users. Escalates to tier 2 as needed or operates under guidance from tier 2 staff.
- Uses help desk system to receive and prioritize help requests and to monitor and track new and recurring support issues.
- Sets up and maintains accounts for users in Active Directory and stand-alone systems.
- Creates and manages new users in VOIP-based phone system.
- Supports, troubleshoots, and maintains VOIP phones for the County and other constitutional offices.
- Manages VOIP equipment including, but not limited to, POE switches and bridges, phones, phone inventory, and works with vendors on technical issues.
- Setups access to County applications.
- Researches new end-user equipment pricing, hardware and software purchases, and specifications.
- Performs technical research. Provides information on current state of equipment and projected needs to members of Division and other County agencies for fiscal budgetary purposes.
- Checks operability and troubleshoots audio and video equipment used in presentations and meetings.
- Leads and/or attends staff conferences, professional meetings, workshops, and other events.
- Drives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.
- Serves as backup to Records Manager.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Associate degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college education.
- Two (2) years relevant experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration, Skills
- Valid Florida Driver License or must obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida.
- A+, Net+, Sec+ certifications or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills are required.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear, confident manner using proper grammar.
- Requires ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.
- Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Must have or be able to obtain within 90 days certification in FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses:
- IS-100.c: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS); and
- IS-700.b: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- The job involves frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 20 pounds.
- The job requires frequent balancing, and occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulders.
- The job requires the completion of tasks that involve typing, simple grasping, fine manual manipulation, operating foot controls/levers, and driving automotive equipment.
- The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, depth perception and color vision, hearing, and speaking.
- The job may risk exposure to adverse weather, moving machinery, electrical hazards, and extreme noise.

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities
- All employees will be required to work before, during, or after an emergency. During an emergency, employees may temporarily be assigned to work and perform duties outside the normal scope of their position, location, and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens. Emergency response duties may also include driving and/or operating a county vehicle or equipment and employees must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.
