Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Ingress Management in Portsmouth, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic aerospace and defense location, you will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a secure, mission-focused environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorizations, maintain visitor logs, and control entry and exit in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly reporting observations through established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to help identify and report unauthorized activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Complete required reports, maintain accurate access-control documentation, and communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
