Role Purpose
The Field Service Engineer serves as a core technical expert delivering on-site engineering, commissioning, and maintenance solutions to FLSmidth clients across Brazil. You will ensure maximum equipment availability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency while acting as the primary technical interface between client operations and our internal engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee installation supervision, commissioning, preventive/corrective maintenance, and technical inspections of heavy mining equipment at customer sites.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and engineering support for complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to resolve recurring operational issues and optimize asset reliability.
Prepare detailed, professional service reports, field execution summaries, and technical documentation.
Conduct operational and preventive maintenance training for customer maintenance teams.
Partner with commercial and product teams to identify opportunities for service enhancements, modernizations, and aftermarket solutions.
Uphold strict adherence to corporate and customer EHS protocols, zero-harm policies, and quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Materials, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical background).
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on field service or heavy maintenance experience in mining or heavy processing industries.
Equipment Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in heavy rotating or mineral processing equipment (e.g., HPGRs, crushers, sizers, ball/vertical mills, thickeners, filters, flotation cells, or kilns).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in hydraulic systems, mechanical assembly, process fundamentals, diagnostic tools, and interpreting engineering schematics.
Languages: Native/Fluent Portuguese; Intermediate English or Spanish (written and spoken).
Mobility: Full availability to travel up to 90% across Brazil and occasionally within South America.
Licensing: Valid Driver’s License.

Familiarity with hydraulic systems, instrumentation, and process.
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and service softwares.
Knowledge of maintenance best practices and troubleshooting methodologies.
