Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, helps ensure a safe and healthy work environment through the administration of the Industrial Safety Program. Working with management, provides daily guidance to plant personnel and contractors to ensure Industrial Safety compliance.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains a working relationship with personnel to identify, evaluate and control potential hazards in the workplace
- Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure hazards are identified and engineering and administrative controls are in place
- Attend daily pre-job brief for construction activities
- Maintain communications with site management and contractors to ensure safety coverage is provided during off shift
- Assists with inspections, analysis and evaluation of planned work, plant facilities, contractor activities, materials, equipment, and other conditions to determine the accident potential
- Applies state and federal regulations in day-day oversight
- Responsible for site industrial safety compliance, and has full “stop work” authority for any activity that violates or has a probability of violating these requirements
- Participates in projects assigned
Education and Licensure
Associates degree in Industrial/Occupational Safety or related field, or equivalent experience.

- Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.
- Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.

- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.

- 5+ years of experience in Safety and Health, preferably in the construction industry. .
Preferred Qualifications and Location Details
- Active DOE Q Clearance.
- B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
- 8+ years of experience.
- CSP or equivalent certification.
