Brief Overview of Position
The Loan Operations Originations Manager provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for all commercial and corporate loan closing activities across Texas Capital Bank. This role is responsible for managing team leads overseeing commercial loan closing functions while maintaining direct leadership responsibility for the Bank’s Commercial Real Estate (CRE) closing operation. The manager oversees the end-to-end closing process for CRE transactions, including closing, booking, funding, and servicing support activities.
As a key leader within Loan Operations, this individual partners closely with Lending, Credit, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Treasury Management, and executive leadership to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and superior client experience. The role is instrumental in driving process improvement, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and establishing scalable operational solutions that align with the Bank’s commercial lending objectives.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop Loan Operations teams responsible for commercial, corporate, and CRE loan closing activities.
- Provide direct management and oversight of the CRE closing team and workflow, serving as the primary leader for this function.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team leads and staff to build technical expertise, operational excellence, and leadership capabilities.
- Manage staffing, performance evaluations, compensation recommendations, succession planning, and employee development.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional client service.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee all commercial and corporate loan closing operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant execution of transactions.
- Direct CRE closing, booking, funding, and servicing support activities, ensuring adherence to bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor production volumes, workflow distribution, service levels, quality metrics, and operational performance.
- Resolve complex loan closing, documentation, funding, and operational issues while mitigating risk and minimizing client impact.
- Partner with business line leaders to support existing and emerging commercial lending products and initiatives.
Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, controls, and client experience across loan origination processes.
- Lead and support automation, transformation, and technology initiatives impacting Loan Operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement operational solutions that support business growth and strategic objectives.
- Utilize reporting and analytics to identify trends, optimize capacity, and drive informed decision-making.
Risk & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational controls related to commercial lending activities.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams to address findings, strengthen controls, and support examinations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of commercial loan documentation, due diligence, collateral requirements, and agented lending transactions.
- Act as an escalation point for high-risk, complex, and sensitive transactions requiring management review.
Business Partnership & Executive Engagement
- Build strong relationships with lending teams, credit partners, legal counsel, and executive leadership.
- Represent Loan Operations in strategic discussions, operational committees, and enterprise initiatives.
- Present operational performance, risks, trends, and recommendations to senior and executive management.
- Participate in budget planning, workforce management, and resource allocation decisions for Loan Operations.

Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 10 years of commercial lending or loan operations experience, including commercial loan closing, documentation, due diligence, and agented lending transactions.
- Minimum 5 years of direct Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loan closing experience, including complex construction, bridge, and income-producing property transactions.
- Minimum 8 years of management experience, including leadership of loan production, closing, or operations teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial loan closing, funding, documentation, and operational risk management.
- Minimum 2 years of ACBS experience or comparable commercial loan servicing/origination platform.
- Proven ability to lead large teams, manage competing priorities, and drive operational results in a high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending regulations, loan documentation requirements, and banking operations.
Preferred
- Experience leading operational transformation, process improvement, or automation initiatives.
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory examinations, and enterprise risk management activities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
