Description
Roth is looking to add an Investment Banking Associate to our Consumer Team. The Investment Banking Associate serves as a key member of deal teams, bridging execution and client management responsibilities. This role involves greater ownership of financial analysis, deal materials, and process management, with increasing exposure to direct client interaction and deal negotiation support. This in-person role will be in the firm’s Newport Beach, CA office.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Lead the development and quality control of complex financial models (DCF, LBO, merger consequences, accretion/dilution) and valuation analyses
- Oversee preparation of pitch books, management presentations, offering memoranda, and other transaction materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Manage day-to-day workstreams on live transactions, coordinating across internal teams and external advisors (legal, accounting, tax)
- Participate in client meetings and calls, contributing to strategic discussions and deal positioning
- Support due diligence processes, including managing data rooms and identifying key risks or issues for senior banker review
- Review and guide the work of Analysts, providing feedback on modeling, formatting, and analytical rigor
- Assist in deal structuring, negotiation support, and drafting of transaction documentation
- Conduct industry and company research to support origination efforts and new business development
- Strong track record of financial modeling and valuation work in a banking, private equity, or related environment
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools
- Deep understanding of accounting, corporate finance, and capital markets
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing deadlines independently
- Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
- Ability to supervise, review, and develop junior staff
- MBA or advanced degree with prior investment banking experience, or 3+ years as an investment banking Analyst
- Securities Industry Essentials - SIE, Series 79, and 63
- Experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or FactSet
- Prior experience in consumer investment banking preferred
Compensation:
$80,000-$85,000 base +
Semi-annual discretionary bonus
