Description
As a Field Service Technician, you’ll spend your days servicing customer water treatment systems throughout the territory, installing equipment, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making repairs. You’ll work both independently and alongside a team while continuing to build your technical skills and expertise in the field.
Success here is about more than technical aptitude. The strongest technicians are dependable, safety-minded, humble, proactive, and naturally curious. They ask questions, want to understand how things work, and are always looking to learn. If you have experience in plumbing, commercial HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, or another mechanical service environment and want to build specialized expertise in industrial water treatment, this could be an excellent next step.
What You’ll Do as a Field Service Technician
- Head out to customer sites throughout the territory to service a variety of industrial water treatment systems.
- Install new equipment and keep existing systems running smoothly through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at every job site, communicating professionally, explaining technical issues clearly, and making sure customers feel supported from start to finish.
- Document your work accurately in the field using a company-provided tablet.
- Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule, with occasional overnight work as customer needs require.
What You Bring
- A naturally curious, hands-on mindset, you ask questions, seek to understand how things work, and are willing to jump in rather than simply observe.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude for troubleshooting plumbing and/or electrical systems; backgrounds in plumbing, commercial HVAC, refrigeration, boilers/cooling systems, or industrial/mechanical field service are especially relevant.
- Working familiarity with ¾” to 4” PVC, including proper preparation; relevant hands-on project experience may qualify.
- Dependability, humility, initiative, good judgment, and the ability to accurately represent and demonstrate the technical skills you bring.
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to prioritize intelligently, understand customer needs, and follow through on assigned work.
- Willingness to learn continuously, accept coaching, and become progressively more independent in the field.
- Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass required pre-employment screening.
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
- Physical ability to lift/carry up to 70 pounds; repeatedly push, pull, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 300 pounds; use power tools; climb ladders; and repeatedly enter/exit a service vehicle.
- High-purity water treatment experience is preferred but not required.
Our client provides an excellent compensation package including a wage of $28-$36/hour DOE, plus bonuses, 401(k), profit sharing, health benefits, and employee/family appreciation days.
