We are looking for a results-oriented accounting professional who shares our values to join our team as an Accountant. This position is responsible for supporting the integrity and accuracy of the organisation’s financial records, delivering timely financial and management reporting, supporting the budgeting process, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
· Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely reports, including management accounts, variance analyses, cash flow analyses, and year-end financial statements.
· Account Reconciliations & Financial Integrity: Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts, including intercompany accounts, and ensure that necessary adjustments are accurately identified and processed.
· Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring budgets are prepared within established timelines, aligned with strategic objectives and supported by appropriate analysis.
· Statutory Reporting & Audit: Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements, audit working papers and supporting schedules, while ensuring compliance with company policy and applicable statutory requirements, including income tax and VAT obligations.
· Fixed Assets & General Ledger: Maintain the fixed asset register and general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of additions, disposals, transfers, revaluations and depreciation, and that fixed asset balances are reconciled to the general ledger.
· Internal Controls & Compliance: Monitor and support the effectiveness of accounting and internal control systems, ensuring established policies, procedures and accounting principles are consistently applied.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in financial accounting, management reporting and financial analysis.
- Membership of a recognised professional accounting body will be an asset.
