Mechanic

Anchor Sandblasting and Coatings, LLC of Tampa, FL is looking to hire a full-time Shipyard Marine Mechanic. As the Mechanic, you will need to troubleshoot equipment problems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. The successful candidate will carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on yard equipment to ensure that everything is in good working condition at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Routine servicing and overhauling of all yard equipment.
• Inspect, repair and adjust diesel power units, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and other equipment.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Good troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical areas.
• Ensuring the proper handling of all equipment and tools.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints.
• Complete miscellaneous assignments and projects as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have own basic tools.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
• Work in various types of weather conditions.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school education or GED.
• Manlift, Air Compressor and Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
• Three (3) or more years of experience, preferably in a heavy industrial or commercial type industry.
