Senior Analyst - Assurance

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Analyst - Assurance to join our Operations Strategy & Integration team in Brisbane on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Lead - Risk and Assurance, you will play a key role in strengthening APA's operational control environment. You will help develop and maintain the Operations Control Library, deliver integrated assurance activities, and provide insights on the effectiveness and health of controls across Operations. Working collaboratively across the business, you will support risk-informed decision making and drive continuous improvement in operational governance, risk management and assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Operations Control Library, including identifying, documenting and validating key controls across operational processes.
• Map controls to operational risks, obligations, assurance activities and the Operational Management Framework to create an integrated view of assurance coverage across Operations.
• Conduct risk-based Line 2 assurance activities to assess the design and effectiveness of key operational controls.
• Identify control gaps, weaknesses and improvement opportunities, and support the development of practical remediation actions.
• Analyse assurance outcomes, audit findings, incident data, self-assessments and other operational insights to assess and report on control health across Operations.
• Develop assurance reporting, dashboards and performance insights to support management and governance decision-making.
• Monitor and validate the completion of agreed actions arising from assurance activities.
• Support the ongoing enhancement of APA's operational risk, control and assurance framework.

Your Background

• Experience in assurance, audit, risk management, controls, compliance or governance within energy, utilities, mining, oil & gas or other asset-intensive industries.
• Experience identifying, documenting, assessing or testing operational controls.
• Strong understanding of risk management, internal controls and assurance principles.
• Ability to analyse information from multiple sources and translate findings into practical business insights.
• Experience preparing reports and presenting outcomes to a range of stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills.
• Experience with integrated assurance, control frameworks or governance programmes will be highly regarded.

About the Team

Operations Strategy & Integration manages the Operations division's interface with corporate functions and ensures Operations has optimised plans, strategies and efficient processes to support safe and reliable operations.

Within OS&I, the Risk and Resilience team leads the operational risk, assurance and resilience framework for Operations, driving continuous improvement in risk management, controls and assurance across the business.
