  • A brief weekly planning check-in will take place either Sunday evening or Monday morning; Sunday check-ins may be completed remotely.
  • No regular weekend on-site work is required, though occasional flexibility may be requested for pet sitting or travel-related coverage.

Compensation: $35–$40 per hour

About Our Family

We are a busy, high-energy household of three: two parents and our teenage daughter, along with two lovable Goldendoodles who are very much part of the family. One parent leads a company and travels occasionally, and together we juggle the many moving pieces of home, family life, school, activities, and everything in between.

Like many busy families, our pace has outgrown many of our systems. We are ready to bring more structure, consistency, and predictability to our home — from the family calendar and weekly planning to household organization, meals, and routines. We are not looking for someone to simply work through a task list; we want an experienced partner who can see the bigger picture and help us create systems that make life easier for everyone.

Our daughter is an important part of this role. She is spirited and funny, and we would love someone who connects with her naturally while helping her build stronger organizational habits, routines, and independence.

We value discretion, open communication, and long-term relationships. Ultimately, we want our home to feel calm, organized, and well-supported — and we are excited to find someone who takes pride in helping a household run beautifully.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are an experienced household professional who thinks beyond the immediate to-do list. You naturally see the bigger picture — learning a household’s rhythms, anticipating what’s coming, and creating thoughtful systems that make daily life easier and more predictable.

You are proactive, organized, and comfortable taking ownership. You notice what could run more smoothly, offer solutions and recommendations, and communicate with the family before something becomes urgent. You are tech-savvy and adaptable, with the judgment to know when to take initiative and when to check in.

You are also warm and personable, especially with children and animals, while understanding how to be a supportive presence without being intrusive. Above all, you are discreet, dependable, and looking for a long-term role where you can build trust and become a consistent presence for the family.

Key Responsibilities

This is an 18-22 hour-per-week role, so your time will be intentionally focused on the areas that create the greatest impact for the family. The priority is not simply completing a list of household tasks, but creating the systems, organization, and proactive oversight that allow the home and family to run smoothly. Routine or lower-level tasks may be outsourced when appropriate so the House Manager can remain focused on higher-value household operations.

Core Priorities

Household Systems & Weekly Planning

  • Build, document, and maintain practical household systems, routines, and recurring schedules so responsibilities do not depend on any one person’s memory.
  • Maintain a household operating manual that captures recurring daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual needs, including clear ownership and expectations.
  • Conduct a 20–30 minute weekly planning meeting, typically Sunday evening or Monday morning, to provide a clear look ahead at the family calendar, our daughter’s needs, meals, appointments, travel, vendors, household priorities, and decisions requiring parent involvement.
  • Anticipate upcoming needs, conflicts, deadlines, and potential issues and proactively bring recommendations or solutions to the family before they become urgent.
  • Continually assess what is and is not working within the household and recommend systems, tools, or processes that could make family life more organized and predictable.

Family Calendar & Operations

  • Own and maintain one reliable master family calendar incorporating school, activities, appointments, travel, social commitments, work obligations that affect the family, and important deadlines.
  • Confirm appointments and logistics in advance and ensure the family knows what needs to happen, when, and who is responsible.
  • Help coordinate family travel, sitters, appointments, and other logistics as needed.
  • Serve as the central organizational point for household operations while clearly communicating anything requiring a decision or action from the family.

Child Routines & Organization

  • Monitor relevant school communications and maintain visibility into our daughter’s assignments, tests, activities, appointments, and upcoming needs.
  • Create age-appropriate systems and routines that help our daughter develop stronger organizational habits, including managing her schedule, belongings, room, and household responsibilities.
  • Coach and guide our daughter toward greater independence rather than simply completing tasks for her.
  • Coordinate activity logistics, sitter support, and occasional backup transportation or childcare as needed.

Home Organization & Property Oversight

  • Maintain sustainable organizational systems throughout the home, initially partnering with the family’s professional organizer where helpful.
  • Identify areas where clutter, recurring tasks, or household processes need better systems and proactively address them.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for household vendors, including cleaners, organizers, maintenance providers, seasonal services, and specialty contractors.
  • Create and maintain a proactive home-maintenance schedule so routine and seasonal needs are addressed before they become urgent.
  • Oversee the weekly cleaning team, communicate priorities or missed areas, and coordinate periodic deep cleaning and specialty services.
  • Manage seasonal household transitions, organization projects, guest preparation, and other home-related projects as needed.

Meal & Household Planning

  • Establish a simple, sustainable weekly meal-planning system that makes family dinners easier and more predictable.
  • Coordinate grocery ordering or delivery and maintain awareness of household staples and healthy snacks.
  • Maintain a rotating collection of family-approved meals and recipes, with careful attention to food allergies.
  • Coordinate meal prep or prepared-food solutions when helpful rather than assuming all cooking must be completed personally.

Additional Household Support, As Time Allows

Once core planning, systems, and organizational priorities are covered, the House Manager may also assist with:

  • Household errands, returns, pickups, and dry cleaning
  • Deliveries, packages, and household supply restocking
  • Light tidying and home resets
  • Laundry, linens, and seasonal clothing organization
  • Grocery put-away and occasional light meal preparation
  • Gift shopping and event preparation
  • Travel packing and unpacking support
  • Vehicle cleaning, detailing, and maintenance coordination
  • Pet-sitting coordination and occasional travel-related pet support
  • Seasonal décor and household transitions
  • Miscellaneous household projects and family support as needs arise

The family is open to outsourcing routine or lower-skill tasks when it makes sense, allowing the House Manager to remain focused on the systems, planning, organization, and proactive household management that will have the greatest impact.

How to Apply:

If interested, please submit the following:

  • A brief letter explaining why you would be a great fit for this position
  • Your updated resume
  • At least 3 professional references with contact information

Note that this role requires a background check.
