Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Logistics Lead to join our team!
The Logistics Lead is responsible for leading and managing project logistics activities across the airport / infrastructure development works. The role ensures the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of material movement, site access, deliveries, storage, transportation, and logistics operations while maintaining safety, security, schedule, and project requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the overall logistics planning and coordination for construction activities across the project.
- Develop and maintain the Project Logistics Plan, site logistics strategy, and logistics schedules.
- Coordinate site access, delivery routes, material movement, laydown areas, storage facilities, and temporary logistics arrangements.
- Manage the movement of materials, equipment, plant, and personnel to and within project sites.
- Coordinate logistics requirements with Construction, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, HSE, Security, and Commercial teams.
- Coordinate with the client, consultants, contractors, authorities, and relevant airport stakeholders regarding logistics requirements.
- Establish and monitor delivery schedules and ensure materials and equipment arrive in line with construction requirements.
- Monitor site congestion, access restrictions, delivery conflicts, and other logistics constraints and develop mitigation measures.
- Ensure logistics activities comply with airport operational requirements, security procedures, traffic management plans, and project HSE requirements.
- Coordinate heavy vehicle movements, abnormal loads, cranes, lifting equipment, and specialized transportation requirements where applicable.
- Manage temporary storage, warehousing, laydown areas, and material handling arrangements.
- Support the planning and coordination of phased construction activities where works are carried out within operational or restricted airport environments.
- Develop logistics risk assessments and mitigation plans for critical and high-risk activities.
- Coordinate with security and traffic management teams to maintain safe and controlled access to project areas.
- Monitor logistics performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
- Review contractor logistics plans and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain logistics records, reports, trackers, permits, delivery schedules, and relevant documentation.
- Provide regular logistics status updates, key constraints, risks, and recovery actions to project management.
- Support project planning by identifying logistics constraints that may impact construction sequencing and critical activities.
- Lead logistics coordination meetings and ensure actions are properly tracked and closed.
- Promote continuous improvement in logistics processes, resource utilization, transportation efficiency, and site operations.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in construction logistics, infrastructure, airport, or major development projects.
- Proven experience managing logistics operations for large-scale and complex construction projects.
- Experience in airport, airfield, infrastructure, or other operational / restricted environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of construction logistics planning, transportation, material handling, warehousing, site access, and traffic coordination.
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors, suppliers, transporters, and project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant HSE, security, traffic management, and site logistics requirements.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and the relationship between logistics and project delivery.
- Experience with logistics planning and reporting tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
