Your day at NTT DATA

The Manager, Data Center Operations provides leadership and oversight for engineering teams supporting provisioning, decommissioning, remediation, and operational services across data center locations. This role partners closely with project teams, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver operational excellence, optimize resource utilization, manage financial and billing performance, and ensure the successful execution of data center programs while maintaining service levels and operational compliance.

The role requires travel to various US based locations between 25%-50% of the time.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage geographically distributed engineering teams responsible for data center provisioning, decommissioning, remediation, migration, and operational support activities across multiple sites.
• Drive the successful execution of customer and internal projects, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, quality, safety, and operational objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day operational performance, resource planning, workforce utilization, and service delivery to meet customer commitments and business targets.
• Establish and maintain effective cross-functional partnerships with project management, engineering, logistics, deployment, operations, supply chain, and customer stakeholders.
• Manage vendor and subcontractor performance, including service quality, compliance, productivity, financial accountability, and contractual obligations.
• Provide leadership during operational incidents and customer escalations, ensuring timely resolution, effective communication, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Develop and implement operational processes, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce risk, improve quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to operational procedures, safety standards, quality controls, and customer-specific requirements across all delivery activities.
• Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, billing validation, cost management, revenue capture, and operational reporting.
• Support business growth through operational readiness planning, customer engagement, solution reviews, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead performance management, coaching, career development, and succession planning for engineering and operational teams.
• Provide operational governance and reporting to senior leadership, ensuring visibility into performance metrics, risks, escalations, staffing, and project delivery status.

Knowledge and Attributes

• Strong understanding of data center operations, infrastructure deployment, provisioning, decommissioning, remediation, and lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed engineering and operational teams within mission-critical environments.
• Strong project and program management capabilities with experience coordinating multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Demonstrated experience managing customer relationships, executive communications, and high-priority escalations.
• Strong vendor and supplier management experience, including performance measurement, contract compliance, and cost control.
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, billing processes, and profitability objectives.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions in dynamic operational environments.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands while maintaining service quality and operational excellence.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline required.
• PMP certification advantageous.

Required experience:

• Advanced experience managing multi discipline engineering teams within a business critical environment

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $140,000 - 175,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.

This position is eligible for company benefits that will depend on the nature of the role offered.
