Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Assurance & Technology Governance

About this role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Assurance & Technology Governance to lead our cyber governance, cybersecurity assurance, and cyber risk analytics capabilities. This role is responsible for driving effective cybersecurity governance, assurance and reporting across the Group, while providing independent oversight and challenge of cybersecurity risks and controls. 

Working closely with stakeholders across Technology & Transformation, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and the broader business, you will play a key role in strengthening decision-making, improving governance outcomes, and enabling effective management of cybersecurity risk. 

The role leads teams responsible for, cybersecurity governance, cybersecurity assurance and cyber risk analytics, while supporting Executive and Board reporting, regulatory engagement, and strategic improvement initiatives.

About you

You'll bring at least 10 years experience across governance, cybersecurity assurance, and technology risk, with the ability to operate confidently in complex and highly regulated environments. Whether your background spans cybersecurity assurance, audit and regulatory engagement, technology governance, security architecture assurance or strategic portfolio delivery, you're comfortable providing independent oversight while helping the business make informed and pragmatic decisions.

Most importantly, you'll have a deep understanding of second line risk functions and the critical role they play in effective governance. You can confidently challenge, influence and advise senior stakeholders while maintaining independence, understanding where oversight responsibilities sit and where accountability remains with Line 1. Your ability to balance risk, regulatory requirements and business outcomes will enable you to build trusted relationships and drive meaningful improvements across the organisation.

You’ll bring:

• Experience in people leadership, you'll have experience managing multidisciplinary teams and developing high-performing leaders.
• Experience establishing or improving cybersecurity and technology governance frameworks, policies, standards, committee structures, decision rights and escalation pathways.
• Experience leading assurance programs, regulatory reviews, audits and remediation governance in a complex or regulated organisation.
• Strong knowledge of relevant frameworks and obligations such as APRA prudential standards, ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT, ISO 38500, privacy requirements and PCI DSS.
• Strong analytical, prioritisation and stakeholder-influencing skills, with the judgement to balance risk, regulatory expectations, customer outcomes and delivery practicality.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with sound judgement.
• Beneficial certifications may include CISM, CISSP, CRISC, CGEIT, ISO 27001, ISO 38500, SABSA or equivalent governance, assurance and security qualifications.
