Sr Graphic Designer, Team Lead

As a Sr. Graphic Designer, Team Lead within the Southeast Division Marketing Department, you will provide day-to-day leadership for a growing team of graphic designers supporting major transportation pursuits, client presentations, strategic initiatives, and marketing communications across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.

This role serves as the people leader for the Southeast Division Graphics Team and partners closely with the primary people leader, Marketing Design Manager to ensure high-quality creative execution, consistent design standards, effective workload management, and professional development of team members. The Team Lead will also play a critical role in creating digital and print assets for proposals, presentations, and PR and internal communications in a collaborative creative culture that aligns with HNTB's commitment to excellence and 4for4 performance.

What You’ll Do:

• Responsible for leading team members and assigning daily assignments. Creates and reviews print and digital materials for proposals, presentations and PR and internal communications.
• Leads the design and preparation of templates and graphics for complex proposals and presentations.
• Undertakes complex projects requiring specialized design or industry knowledge, including leading creative direction and design for  print and digital materials for proposals, presentations or other marketing-related efforts.
• Interacts with pursuit teams to determine requirements and needs and schedules and prioritizes work for the group.
• Interprets and coordinates work around purchases and contract of services of outside studios and vendors.
• Recommends new approaches and participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures to produce continual improvements. 
• Selects and coordinates Internal/external vendors and photographers.
• May participate in strategic war rooms, presentation rehearsals, and graphics meetings of lower-level staff in order to provide guidance and support creative vision.
• Makes internal presentations to staff and clients regarding technical data.
• Provides input on recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including developing a plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
• Responsible for coordinating schedules and approving timecards.
• Aids in establishing employees’ objectives and provides feedback from clients while coaching and mentoring their team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Associates Degree in Art, Graphic Design or related field and 7 years of relevant experience, or
• In lieu of education 9 years of relevant experience

What We Prefer:

• Bachelor's Degree in Art, Graphic Design or related field
• A/E experience
• Long-form document creation experience
• Strong presentation design and visual storytelling experience
• Experience leading creative teams
• Knowledge of workload management and resource planning tools.
• Experience developing templates, style guides, and quality standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Photography, multimedia, motion graphics, or visualization experience.
