Health Data Science Black Internship Programme 2027

We are delighted to announce the seventh year of running our Health Data Science Black Internship Programme! This is in collaboration with the 10,000 Interns Foundation and the Health Data Alliance.

The internship is for Monday 28 June - Friday 20 August 2027.

Interns will be recruited and employed by a host organisation for the 8-weeks and will participate in training activities throughout the internship, including:

• Friday afternoon ‘takeover’ sessions with health data experts

• Access to our virtual learning platform Futures for training on health data topics

• Mentorship

• A group technical challenge

• In-person events with the other interns

Who can apply?

Our internships for summer 2027 are open to all Black people (those of African, Caribbean and those of Black mixed heritage) who are:

• Current students at a UK university at any level (undergraduate, post grad diploma, Master’s, PhD or returning student)

• Recently graduated from a UK university (2025 and 2026)

• International students currently registered at a UK university

• Of any academic background, but is ideally suited to those with a degree in maths, engineering or computer / data sciences, and medicine and bioinformatics-allied subjects.

Please note that you must have a right to work and be based in the UK. We do not support visas for this programme.
