Job Description
Production Engineer – TWT Post‑Exhaust Assembly
Join our advanced manufacturing team supporting high‑reliability electronic products, where your expertise will directly impact yield, quality, and production excellence. In this role, you will own and continuously improve post‑exhaust assembly processes for Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs)—ensuring every build is safe, consistent, and optimized for first‑time pass yield. Working closely with cross‑functional engineering and operations teams, you’ll be a key driver of scalable, precision manufacturing from the shop floor to documentation control.
What you’ll do
Define, validate, and own post‑exhaust assembly processes, including preparation, testing, and final packaging stages
Develop and maintain clear, unambiguous assembly procedures to ensure consistent execution
Create and manage travelers and routings that capture critical data for traceability and yield improvement
Specify, release, and validate production tooling to ensure precision, repeatability, and product integrity
Drive first‑time pass yield by embedding control points and critical parameter tracking into processes
Partner with engineering and quality teams to incorporate lessons learned into procedures and documentation
Support implementation of new processes and tooling on the shop floor, including operator training
Ensure alignment between released documentation and actual production practices
Support audits and ensure compliance with configuration control and quality system requirements
Participate in engineering change orders and process improvement initiatives
What you need
Strong ability to define and document manufacturing processes and assembly methods – required
Experience creating procedures, travelers, and tooling in a production environment – required
Proven understanding of shop‑floor operations and operator workflows – required
Ability to analyze process performance and drive yield improvements – preferred
Experience in high‑reliability manufacturing environments – required
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related) – required
Experience with vacuum electronics, RF assemblies, or high‑voltage systems – preferred
Familiarity with contamination‑sensitive processes and traceability systems – preferred
What we offer
Opportunity to work on cutting‑edge, high‑reliability technologies
Collaborative, cross‑functional engineering environment
Strong visibility and impact on manufacturing performance and continuous improvement
Career growth in advanced manufacturing and engineering leadership
(Additional benefits such as compensation, healthcare, or bonuses can be added based on company specifics.)
