Description
The Research Assistant will work with Jessica Walker to support ongoing promotion of her recently released book as well as develop research and production for a new graphic novel project and support with event facilitation around the theme of children’s book publishing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet bi-weekly with faculty to develop research plan
Identify primary and secondary resources that can inform the project’s written and visual content
Assemble research findings into a shared repository which may include Google Drive and Miro
Document all works cited for written and visual resources
Support with promotion and launch events for project being released in November 2025
Support with social media strategic plan
Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
Experience conducting research for visual and/or narrative projects
Ability to work independently
Familiarity with novels and graphic novels for young adults
Experience with creating social media content for creative projects
WORK MODE:
Hybrid/Split - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely. #LI-DNI
Hourly Rate: $31.37/hour
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between SENS-UAW, Local 7902 and the University.

Responsibilities:

Some tasks include developing a research plan, identifying sources, organizing findings and digital databases, among others.
