We are seeking an experienced and resourceful Senior Merchandiser – Fabrics & Trims to join our team.  The role focuses on securing quality fabrics and trims — particularly stock fabrics in the China market — through strong supplier relationships, market insight, and effective negotiation to ensure material availability, quality, and cost competitiveness to support customer and business needs.

Here is what you need to know about this role:

• Supplier Identification & Evaluation - Identify and assess mills, traders, and trim suppliers based on capability, quality, reliability, price competitiveness, and responsiveness.

• Fabrics & Trims Sourcing - Source fabrics and trims, particularly on stock fabric options available in the China market, to meet customer and business requirements while ensuring timely material availability for mid to high-end fashion manufacturing.

• Negotiation & Cost Management - Negotiate pricing, terms, and minimum order conditions to achieve competitive cost results while ensuring quality and availability.

• Sample & Material Coordination - Arrange and follow up on fabric swatches, trim samples, price quotations, and technical details; ensure accuracy and completeness of all material information.

• Issue Resolution & Alternatives Recommendation - Identify risks such as unstable pricing, limited stock, or quality concerns, and proactively recommend alternative materials or suppliers.

• Data & Record Management - Maintain updated sourcing files, cost sheets, supplier information, and material databases to support decision-making and traceability.

• Market Research & Insight Sharing - Track market trends, stock fabric availability, price movements, and supplier developments; share timely insights with customers and internal stakeholders to support decision-making.

• Support on Sourcing Initiatives - Participate in sourcing-related projects and carry out tasks assigned by Management.

Requirements:

• Diploma or above in Textiles, Merchandising, Fashion & Garment, or related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrics and trims sourcing, with proven hands-on expertise in stock fabric sourcing in the China market.

• Strong supplier network and solid knowledge of China stock fabric trading landscape and mill resources are highly preferred.

• Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive stock deals.

• Good understanding of fabric construction, material characteristics and trim categories.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines with strong problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

• Skilled in MS Office applications; familiarity with PLM systems is a plus.
