Direct Support Professional

Samaritans At Last is recruiting for Direct Support professional to work in the Philadelphia/ Delaware County area. We are looking for people with a flexible schedule and can work a variety of shifts.

The primary role of the Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to ensure the health, safety and well-being of the individual they offer services to, through supervision and assistance. To carry out the terms set forth in the individual’s ISP (Individual Support Plan), Behavior Support Plan (BSP) and or Crisis Plan. Assist and support in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of Individuals. Assist, support, and instruct Individuals in self-help skills designed to encourage independence. To maintain a safe working environment, comply and adhere to company’s and program policies and procedures at all times.*

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist service individual with activities of daily living as needed
• Showering
• Personal hygiene
• Dressing
• Eating
• Toileting
• Provide recreational and social activities support, including volunteer or civic-minded opportunities at the following locations: At the individual's home and In the individual community or proximity to his/her community.
• Accompany individual to appointments, classes, or other activities outside the home.
• Transport individuals to Outcome and Goal related activities that are within the departmental mileage cap and are part of goal attainment.
• Transport individual to and from school
• Document service at the end of each shift
• Maintain a positive, respectful relationship with individuals and their families
• Report incidents to management as soon as they occur
• Ensure that Individual's Support Plan objectives are being met at each visit.
• Maintain staffing ratio and safety guidelines as outlined in the individual’s Individual Support Plan and according to company's object for quality care and management.
• Participate in meetings and training as required.

Requirements:

High school diploma or it's equivalent

Valid driver's license

Must drive with updated insurance coverage and car registration

A recent full work physical with PPD screening

CPR and First Aid Certification
