The Deployment & Safety Manager is responsible for leading the Wireless Services safety program while supporting safe and successful project execution. This role works closely with field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable safety regulations.

The Deployment & Safety Manager partners with Operations, Project Managers, Construction Managers, Foremen, subcontractors, and customers to build a culture where safety is part of how work gets done every day. This position supports both operational success and the continued development of a strong safety culture across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

Safety Leadership
  • Build and reinforce a culture where every employee is responsible for safety.
  • Lead by example and promote safe work practices across all Wireless Services operations.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Support a culture where employees are empowered to stop work when unsafe conditions exist.

Field Operations
  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections and field safety audits.
  • Perform field observations and provide coaching on safe work practices.
  • Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fall protection, climbing equipment, electrical safety practices, and traffic control.
  • Support safe execution of tower climbing, rigging, lifting operations, energized work, and other high-risk activities.
  • Partner with Operations to identify risks early and develop practical solutions.
  • Participate in project planning, mobilization meetings, and safety reviews.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), rescue plans, lift plans, and other required project documentation.
  • Represent Utilities One during customer safety meetings, audits, and field visits.

Training & Development
  • Coordinate and maintain required safety certifications and training records for all field personnel.
  • Conduct safety orientations and recurring safety training.
  • Ensure required certifications remain current, including OSHA, tower climbing, rescue, CPR/First Aid, DOT, RF awareness, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development throughout the organization.

Incident Management
  • Lead investigations involving incidents, near misses, vehicle accidents, property damage, and safety concerns.
  • Perform root cause analyses and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare accurate documentation and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Ensure corrective actions are completed and lessons learned are shared across the organization.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain required OSHA logs and safety documentation.
  • Support customer safety audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor changes to applicable regulations and recommend program improvements.
  • Ensure company vehicles, equipment, and tools meet established safety requirements.
  • Track safety performance and identify opportunities to improve field operations.



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of safety leadership experience in wireless telecommunications, utility construction, or related infrastructure industries.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
  • Experience supporting wireless construction and field operations.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred
  • OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Certification.
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent safety certification.
  • Competent Climber and Tower Rescue certifications.
  • CPR/First Aid Instructor certification.
  • DOT compliance experience.
  • Experience supporting national wireless customers.
