At Vantive, we are building on a long legacy of innovation in vital organ therapies. Our Castlebar site, established in 1972, is one of the largest manufacturing facilities in Europe and plays a critical role in producing life-sustaining medical products that support patients around the world.
We are currently seeking a Chemist to join our Quality team in Castlebar, Co. Mayo. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative and diverse team, working closely with colleagues across Quality, Microbiology, Validation, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other support functions.
As a Chemist, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality, compliance, and patient safety while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
What You'll Do
- Analyse samples from various stages of the manufacturing process.
- Perform testing using a variety of analytical techniques and instrumentation including:
- Wet Chemistry
- Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS)
- Atomic Emission Spectrometry (AES)
- Auto Titrators
- Total Organic Carbon (TOC)
- Infrared (IR) Spectrometry
- Potentiometry
- Ultraviolet (UV) Spectrometry
- Gas Chromatography (GC)
- High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Accurately interpret and document analytical data in accordance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Generate and communicate analytical results to relevant stakeholders.
- Support the development and optimisation of analytical methods for drug products and raw materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing and quality objectives.
- Liaise with laboratory, quality, and production personnel to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Support validation activities for laboratory methods and equipment.
- Contribute to the preparation and approval of Quality Reviews and Annual Product Quality Reviews.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities through effective use of quality data and reporting.
- Support batch release activities.
- Assist the Quality Assurance team during regulatory inspections, customer audits, and internal audits.
- Support new product introductions and product lifecycle activities from a Quality perspective.
What You'll Bring
- A degree qualification in Chemistry or a related Science discipline.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally within a regulated pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, or manufacturing setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of GMP and quality systems would be advantageous.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
