Position Overview

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Chief Nursing Executive & Chief of Clinical Programs, the Vice President, Quality, Risk & Patient Experience will lead the strategic direction for quality improvement, patient safety, enterprise risk management, accreditation, patient experience and patient and family engagement across the organization.

 

This executive will play a pivotal role in advancing Humber River Health's quality agenda, strengthening our culture of safety and high reliability, supporting Board governance, and ensuring that the patient voice remains at the centre of everything we do.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead organizational quality, patient safety and accreditation strategies.
• Advance enterprise risk management and mitigation programs.
• Strengthen patient experience and patient engagement initiatives.
• Support Board Quality Assurance Committee governance and reporting.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high reliability.
• Build strong partnerships with physicians, staff, patients, families and community stakeholders and organizational leaders fostering collaboration, shared accountability and integrated approaches to quality, safety and patient-centered care.
• Drive innovation and evidence-informed decision-making throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant health-related or business discipline.
• Regulated health professional preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive senior leadership experience in healthcare.
• Demonstrated success leading quality, safety, risk and patient experience portfolios.
• Demonstrated ability to influence, coach and partner with diverse stakeholders to achieve organizational goals through collaboration rather than direct authority.
• Accreditation Canada leadership experience.
• Strong governance and board relations experience.
• Exceptional strategic, communication and relationship-building skills.
