The Wanderers Club is a casual, multi-generational private golf and country club in the heart of the equestrian community of Wellington, Florida. The Club’s full array of amenities and services is centered around families, sports, and the equestrian lifestyle found only in Wellington. We serve a vibrant community of families in areas ranging from golf, racquet, swimming, events, dining, to childcare & camps.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a manager in a Country Club, Hotel, or a Specialty Restaurant
JOB KNOWLEDGE, CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPECTATIONS
• Supervises daily F&B shift operation and monitors compliance with all F&B policies, standards and procedures.
• Supervises staffing levels to verify that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
• Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
• Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work.
• Good organizational and follow-through skills.
• Maintains a high level of member contact throughout service hours.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
LICENSES AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Food safety certification.
• Alcoholic beverage certification.
Requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
• Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous repetitive motions.
• Ability to work inside and outside under various weather conditions.
JOB TASKS/DUTIES
• Provides food and beverage service according to club’s standards.
• Supervises front-of-house personnel to ensure the highest productivity and conduct.
• Coordinates food service between Culinary and service team.
• Resolves member/guest opportunities. Strong and timely problem resolution.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
• Directs pre-meal meetings with dining room personnel; relays pertinent information such as cover count and menu changes, special member requests, etc.
• Inspects F&B team members to ensure that they are in proper and clean uniforms according to standards at all times.
• Manages the member reservation system and a waiting list, if necessary.
• Sets a positive example for member relations
• Ability to provide information to co-workers by phone, written form, e-mail or in person.
• Comprehends budgets, operating statements, and payroll reporting
• Ability to critique financial performance
• Inventory control
• Experience with working on POS systems (Jonas is desirable)
• Assures opening, on-going and closing cleaning tasks are assigned and completed as required.
• Complies with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire and other laws and requirements.
• Assures that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed.
• Enforces established rules, regulations and policies including member/guest dress code
• Applies focused training, monitoring and accountability
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.
• Assists in developing wine lists and beverage promotions.
