Description
Looking for your way into AI from finance, consulting or law?
Put your experience to work building a company, not just advising. Join Vesence as our Founding GTM and help bring AI into the professional workflows you know firsthand.
About Vesence
Vesence is building an AI platform for High-Stakes Work, helping professional teams review contracts, check financial models and prepare client presentations. It’s already used at law firms, banks, investment funds and enterprises - where the details matter most.
We’re backed by Y Combinator, Emergence and 20VC, with angel investors including Y Combinator founder Paul Graham and Lovable founder Anton Osika.
About the role
You’ll help turn customer adoption into a repeatable sales approach. This is a founding, individual-contributor role: you’ll own your pipeline, revenue target and deals from outreach through signing. After onboarding, you’ll run the full sales cycle independently, with founder support on complex opportunities.
We’d especially like to meet someone from investment banking, private equity, consulting or law. Your understanding of professional workflows can help you recognize customer problems and build credibility. Expect substantial self-generated outreach alongside discovery, demonstrations, pilots and closing.
What you’ll do
- Identify target accounts, buyers and valuable workflows across law firms, banks and investment funds.
- Build pipeline through outbound, introductions, networking and follow-up, partnering with our SDR on targeting and qualified opportunities.
- Lead discovery, tailored demonstrations and pilots. Agree success criteria and decision timelines, support onboarding and assess results with customers.
- Own proposals, objections, negotiation and signing. Agree pricing boundaries and approval requirements with the founder, drawing them into complex deals when needed.
- Support initial customer adoption and coordinate a clear handover of ongoing support and next steps.
- Maintain CRM records and forecasts, track progress against your revenue target, and document what works.
- Bring customer feedback into product discussions and improve messaging, demonstrations and sales materials.
What we’re looking for
- Ideally, experience in finance, consulting, law or B2B sales to professional customers. M&A or transaction experience is a strong plus, not a requirement.
- Evidence of winning trust, handling objections, negotiating and driving commercial decisions. Show us what you personally owned and achieved.
- An outgoing, curious approach, clear writing and confidence explaining a product to demanding customers.
- Willingness to prospect, follow up and hear “no,” with the discipline to keep opportunities moving.
- Curiosity about AI, an ability to learn the product deeply and comfort being accountable for a revenue target.
You don’t need a prior SaaS sales title. You do need initiative and follow-through to grow into independent closing.
Getting started and your first six months
You’ll learn Vesence and our buyers, join founder-led customer calls, practice demonstrations and work with the founder on early opportunities. By six months:
- You confidently demonstrate Vesence around real customer workflows.
- You consistently generate qualified opportunities through your own outreach and relationships.
- You independently lead discovery, demos, pilots, proposals and closing, with founder support where needed.
- You’ve signed customers and can explain what made those deals work.
- You manage pipeline against your revenue target, with clear deal status, risks and next steps.
- You’ve documented effective targeting, messaging and sales practices for the next GTM hire.
Why join
- Use your domain expertise in AI. Put your knowledge of professional work into practice solving customer problems.
- Help shape the business. Work directly with the founder on customer priorities and positioning, and influence product decisions.
- Work with a top-tier team. Learn from colleagues spanning AI engineering, management consulting, law, professional sports and music production.
- Build a commercial track record. Develop full-cycle selling skills and shape an early sales function rather than inherit a finished playbook.
- Share in what you build. Earn performance-linked compensation and equity alongside your base salary.
Compensation
$120,000–$150,000 annual base salary · $200,000–$250,000 OTE · Plus equity
Compensation depends on relevant experience and demonstrated ability to independently manage and close deals. OTE includes base salary and variable compensation earned at target performance; equity is additional.
