Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our North America Finance & Accounting team. This position will play a key role in the monthly financial close process, preparation of management reporting, account reconciliations, as well as coordination of sales tax compliance and continuous financial process improvements throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting skills with a practical, business-oriented mindset and is comfortable working cross-functionally in a growing manufacturing and distribution environment, with the potential to grow into a leadership role over time.
Accounting & Reporting
- Support and execute the monthly close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with fixed assets, leases, and payroll-related accounting and inquiries.
- Coordinate with external tax providers (Vertex) to support US & Canadian sales tax filings, reconciliations, and compliance reporting.
- Maintain accurate tax-related data in SAP and ensure proper tax coding for AR/AP transactions.
- Support AR/Credit and AP teams with reconciliations, compliance, and month-end reporting.
- Provide data and schedules for audits as well as local, state, and national operational and outsourced tax compliance.
Systems & Process
- Serve as Finance “super user” for SAP and BI reporting tools.
- Support SAP master data maintenance and coordinate with IT on finance-related system enhancements.
- Automate recurring reports and improve data accuracy and efficiency.
- Support Accounting & Finance leadership with process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3–6 years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, or financial analysis; public accounting or multinational experience strongly preferred.
- CPA or pursuit of CPA a plus; strong accounting foundation required.
- Experience with SAP or another ERP system strongly desired.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; Power BI or similar tool experience a plus.
- Must be based in or within a reasonable commuting distance of Lebanon, IN, and available to work onsite a minimum of two days per week to support collaboration, communication, and alignment with the Finance team.
