Position: Environmental Services/ Facilities Maintenance
Schedule: Full-Time | Alternating Weekends
Pay Range: $19.05-$23.23+ per hour (Depending on Experience) PLUS $3000 Sign on Incentive!

Do you take pride in making a place feel warm, clean, and welcoming? The Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd (LHGS) is looking for a caring and dependable Maintenance worker to join our team! We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to work 32-40 hours per week. This position is a benefit eligible Full Time position. Sign on incentives are paid out in 5 installments over a 15 month contract.

Whether you have experience or are brand new to this kind of work, we’ll train you in every part of the job — all you need is a good attitude and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is an important role that helps keep our home safe, comfortable, and inviting for everyone. You’ll:

• Inspects the building, grounds, and equipment.
• Handles necessary repairs and maintenance.
• Installs equipment and appliances.
• Follows local and state building codes.
• Complies with all company safety regulations.
• Keeps a maintenance log.
• Reports any issues to the maintenance manager.
• Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
• Collaborates with the maintenance team and contractors as needed.
• Reads and follows manuals, blueprints, and other written instructions.
• Uses equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.
• Clean and sanitize resident rooms and common areas
• Safely handle and dispose of waste
• Follow infection control procedures
• Support your team and residents with a positive attitude

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Valid ND driver’s license or ability to get one within 90 days
• Some maintenance or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required
• A kind heart, good work ethic, and team spirit
