Wilhelmsen Global Business Services (GBS) is looking for a Senior Workday Specialist
Location: Lysaker, Norway | Type: Full-time, Hybrid

We are looking for a Senior Workday Specialist with a special focus on compensation and benefits to join our Global HR Technology team. In this role, you will work closely with the HR Technology Architect to shape our Workday roadmap, drive enhancements, and support employees and leaders across more than 50 countries.

Global Business Services (GBS) is Wilhelmsen's internal service organization, delivering HR, Finance, Technology, and business support services across the Group.
As part of the Global HR Technology team, you will collaborate with HR, IT, business leaders, and external partners to ensure our HR systems enable business success and deliver great employee experience.
What you'll do
As Senior Workday Specialist, you will play a key role in the ongoing development, support, and optimization of Workday across the Wilhelmsen Group.
You will:
Drive the stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement of our Workday platform
Own and support key Compensation processes, including Bonus, Merit, Benefits, and Step Adjustments
Provide expert guidance on Workday functionality, configuration, and best practices
Troubleshoot complex issues and identify process and system improvement opportunities
Support the execution of the Workday roadmap in partnership with the HR Technology Architect
Lead Workday release activities, including impact assessments, testing, deployment, and communication
Partner with process owners to improve user adoption through training and knowledge sharing
Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on HR processes and Workday capabilities
Collaborate with IT and integration teams to maintain and expand the Workday integration landscape
Ensure the effectiveness of the Workday security framework through audits, role reviews, and testing
Coach and support HR and Workday support teams with functional expertise
What we're looking for
You are passionate about HR technology, enjoy solving complex challenges, and thrive in a collaborative international environment.
We're looking for someone with:
Workday certification in one or more areas such as HCM, Compensation, Security, or Integrations
3+ years of hands-on Workday experience in a global organization
Experience supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, and operational support
Strong understanding of HR processes, including employee lifecycle and compensation management
Experience configuring and maintaining Workday functionality
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience driving change, adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives
Consulting experience is an advantage
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies
Fluency in written and spoken English
