Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Workday Integration Lead to design, develop, support, and optimize integrations across the Workday ecosystem and connected enterprise applications. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for Workday integrations, partnering with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and external vendors to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data exchange solutions.
The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Workday integration technologies including EIB, Core Connectors, Document Transformation, Studio, Workday Web Services (WWS), REST APIs, and middleware platforms. The role may also provide technical leadership, governance, and mentoring team members and implementation partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Workday Integration Development
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Workday integrations supporting HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Talent, Recruiting, and Learning processes.
- Build and support integrations utilizing:
- Workday Studio
- Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
- Core Connectors
- Cloud Connect
- Workday Web Services (SOAP)
- Workday REST APIs
- Workday Extend (preferred)
- Configure and maintain inbound and outbound integrations between Workday and third-party systems.
- Develop and maintain custom integrations using XML, XSLT, Java, JSON, and web services technologies.
Integration Architecture & Leadership
- Lead integration design workshops and technical solution discussions.
- Define integration standards, naming conventions, documentation requirements, and governance processes.
- Evaluate and recommend integration approaches based on business and technical requirements.
- Ensure scalable, secure, and supportable integration architecture.
Support & Incident Management
- Monitor integration performance and proactively identify issues.
- Troubleshoot production incidents and coordinate resolutions with stakeholders and vendors.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Manage integration releases, enhancements, and change requests.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure integrations comply with security, privacy, and audit requirements.
- Configure and support Workday integration system security.
- Perform security reviews and access validation for integration processes.
- Support data governance and compliance initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and external vendors to understand business requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into technical integration solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to business and project teams.
- Support Workday releases and assess impacts on existing integrations.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Create and maintain technical specifications, process flows, support documentation, and runbooks.
- Develop integration testing strategies and test cases.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve integration processes.
- Stay current with Workday roadmap, features, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related discipline.
Experience
- 7+ years of Workday integration experience.
- Proven experience leading integration projects and technical teams.
- Experience managing complex enterprise-wide Workday implementations and enhancements.

- Experience with middleware platforms such as Boomi, Workato, Azure Integrations Services, etc.
- Experience mapping Workday data to SAP (iDocs, BAPIs, or OData).
- Experience with SFTP, API integrations, and file-based interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Pro Integration Certification(s).
- Workday Studio Certification.
- Experience with Workday HCM, Workday Finance, and Workday Expense
- Experience supporting global HR and payroll environments.
- Experience in Agile project delivery methodologies.
- Hybrid Experience: Proven ability to work in a "Best of Breed" environment where Workday acts as the HR system of record but integrates with a separate ERP (SAP).
