Description
Own end-to-end technical leadership for the Payment project, including architecture, design decisions, delivery quality, and production stability.
Lead Java backend solution design and implementation for high-throughput, mission-critical payment workflows.
Contribute across the stack when needed (backend-first, full-stack collaboration preferred).
Act as the technical contact point with HK IT, BA, and PO, driving requirement clarification, trade-off discussions, and execution alignment.
Lead and coach engineers through task planning, code reviews, standards enforcement, and technical mentoring.
Drive engineering excellence: CI/CD quality gates, observability, incident response, and post-mortem improvements.
Identify and manage technical and delivery risks proactively.
Must-Have Qualifications:
6+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in Tech Lead or equivalent technical leadership role.
Strong Java backend expertise, with hands-on experience in distributed systems and microservices.
Proven delivery experience in Payment or other high-reliability transaction systems.
Strong communication and stakeholder management across business and technical teams.
Team leadership capability in planning, quality control, and delivery governance.
Strong English reading and writing for documentation, email communication, and cross-team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Full-stack capability (frontend framework understanding, API integration, end-to-end troubleshooting).
Experience working with regional teams, especially HK-based stakeholders.
Cantonese speaking ability.
Financial services domain knowledge, including security/compliance awareness.
